Frequently Asked Questions
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I would like to sell a tree, can I get more information? Goby Walnut purchases logs from Oregon, Washington and California. Logs must be a minimum of 24" in diameter and 8' long, free of steel inclusions. Contact our tree buyer, Matt, for more information - 503-477-6744. Shipping Large items will ship LTL through our freight broker. Small items typically ship UPS unless otherwise requested. Please allow 2-3 days to fulfill online orders. We ship all over the world, please call for a quote if you are outside of the U.S. Return Policy We want you to love what you buy. If you don't love it, we're happy to exchange the item or issue you a refund for item. Exclusion: custom work can be returned for store credit. We do not accept returns on items that have been cut or altered. We do not refund freight, or cost of return freight. I'd like to view a slab. Most slabs are stacked, and are difficult to get to without notice. Please call to make an appointment to view slabs (applies to material wider than 2'). What species do you carry? We always stock Oregon Black Walnut (Claro Walnut), Big Leaf Maple, Oregon White Oak, Madrone, and Myrtle. We also have limited runs of Elm, English Walnut, Tan Oak, and other NW Hardwood species. Is your material kiln dried? Yes! The only exception pertains to slabs online. All kiln dried slabs will explicitly state that they are kiln dried. Otherwise, the slab is in the process of air drying. We are happy to kiln dry slabs for our customers as long as they have had 2 summers of air drying - the slab number corresponds to the cut / air drying start date. All hardwood lumber is kiln dried to 8% or less. All Myrtle is kiln dried in the vacuum kiln to ensure material is free of bugs. Is your lumber surfaced? Yes! We surface one side of our lumber before it is available to sell. All lumber is surfaced to the thickness as advertised - i.e 4/4 = 1" thick.
